Description: 
Acquired in 1933, from Tuoro on Lake Trasimeno. the work is by an Umbrian (or Umbrian-Marche) artist of the 15th century. [museum label] The iconography of a Madonna della Misericordia frequently shows the sheltering cloak containing smaller figures showing hierarchic proportions. Here the Madonna shelters a group including a king, queen, bishop and civil authorities as well as pious women.
