Description:
|
Mosaic depicting Orestes and Iphigenia who holds in her hand a statuette of Artemis. The stone tesserae are laid against a backing of terra cotta and would have served as a central emblem in a floor decoration. From the Horti Maeccenatiani, found in the area near the Auditorium in 1876. (Source: Capitoline Museums [website]; http://en.museicapitolini.org/)
