Description:
|
An anonymous master who takes his eponym from this panel of Madonna and Child, now in the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica, Rome, but which was formerly kept in the Palazzo Venezia in Rome. He was probably a close collaborator of Simone Martini. His dates of activity are based on the dating of works attributed to him, including this panel in Rome, dated to the 1330s, and another work by him, an Annunciation in the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, dated 1333.
