Description:
This is an early work which was perhaps brought to Venice by the artist himself between 1479 and 1488 during Andrea del Verrocchio's stay in Venice. Lorenzo was a fellow pupil of Leonardo da Vinci and Perugino in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio. In 1482-1483 he took over the workshop, and by 1490-1500 he occupied an important position in Florentine art life. He did many small devotional paintings such as this one.
