Description:
|
Commissioned by the Oblate monks of Sant' Egidio, this small altarpiece was hung on the partition separating the choir, where it was described by Vasari. Its predella contained the Wedding and Burial of the Virgin, now in San Marco. The early Renaissance work has an early 19th century frame, and although it had been at the Uffizi since 1825 it was not displayed until 1948.
