Fra Bartolommeo painted this version in fresco at the Dominican convent of La Maddalena at Le Caldine (Pian di Mugnone); it was detached in 1959 and badly damaged. There are eight heads (seven saints and a bust of Christ) painted in fresco on terracotta tile that are also from La Maddelena and now in the Museo di San Marco, thought to have been painted by Fra Bartolommeo and his pupils.
