Adoration of the Child from S Maria della Misericordia, Bologna originally had Costa’s Adoration of the Magi (Milan, Pinacoteca di Brera) as its predella. It depicts the Virgin kneeling and flanked by St Augustine and the patron, Anton Galeazzo Bentivoglio (1472-1525). The standing shepherd sporting a laurel wreath is probably Anton Galeazzo’s brother, Alessandro, a poet. (Source: Grove Art Online; http://www.oxfordart online.com/)
