Vasari bought this house in 1541, and rebuilt it, finishing in 1547. Vasari started decorating it with his paintings in 1542, completing them sometime after 1548. In this room, Apollo is depicted in a center roundel surrounded by Muses on a purely decorative vaulted ceiling. (Source: Grove Art Online; http://www.oxfordartonline.com/)
