Description:
Part of the 2015 "Pompeii" exhibit which featured over 220 archaeological artifacts, most from the Naples National Archaeological Museum. The exhibit was designed to immerse viewers in settings of every day life in Pompeii, complete with state-of-the-art visual effects and soundscapes. Composite frame with four frescoes of medallions with seaside villas, in the Fourth Syle, found at Stabiae in the Villa of San Marco. Some Pompeian houses were luxurious, but they could never match the splendor of these huge imaginary villas. The area around the Bay of Naples was famous for its extravagant estates and seaside villas. These wall paintings mix fantasy and reality in the depiction of large homes, harbors and temples.
