Description:
The herm probably depicts a deity, but unidentified. It wears a triangular diadem tightened by a wide band (tenia) with tassels that fall on the shoulders. A pair of small horns emerge from the thick mass of hair. The loose rendering of the hair is in contrast with the schematic, flattened curls of the beard, which suggest this is a copy from a bronze original. It dates to the Antonine period (138-192 CE).
