Description:
|
The name for the central panel comes from the fact that the relief was once in Santa Maria del Carmine, Florence. It has been combined on museum display with a tabernacle that originally held another Madonna and Child, carved in the round. The tabernacle is in pietra serena with marble angels and is also by Agostino di Duccio. It features God the Father Blessing in the pediment and is from the Convent of Ognissanti, Florence.
