Fernand Leduc, born in Montreal, was a Québécois painter. He studied in Montreal, then he made contact with André Breton in New York in 1945 and joined him in Paris in 1947. In 1956, he and his friends (Pierre Gauvreau, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Jean-Paul Mousseau, Françoise Sullivan) founded the Association of Non-Figurative Artists of Montreal, of which he became president.
