Description:
|
The room is on the ground floor and has a barrel vault. The gold and white stuccowork compartments were created by Bartolomeo Ridolfi, a sculptor and stuccoist from Verona. These were embellished by Eliodoro Forbicini, who was a master at 'grotesque' (or grottoesque) motifs in the classic sense, derived from the ornamentation of the ancient Roman Domus Aurea. The scenes from the story of Hercules were painted by Domenico Brusasorci the elder. (Source: Musei Civici Vicenza [website]; https://www.museicivicivicenza.it/)
