Description: 
Roman copy, circa first half of the 2nd century CE, based on a Greek original of the late 5th or early 4th century BCE (possibly from a larger relief.) Modern restoration of the nose, lips, neck and torso. Traces of red pigment remain as a foundation for gilding the beard curls. From the Ludovisi collection.
