Work Notes:
|
Plan of the North theater is a hybrid of Roman and Greek forms. Neither the stage building nor the upper shrine or temple have survived. (66) In Francesco Contini's (1559-1669) of 1668, the North theater was mistaken for a naumachia, probably because it was flooded in his day. (221-222).
