REMARKS COMPILED IN 1987 BY ROY HAMILTON ON BASIS OF EXISTING RECORDS, EXAMINATION OF OBJECT, AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE: "Geringsing wayang" from Tenganan Pageringsingan, Bali, additionally decorated with embroidery in metallic thread. This style of cloth is illustrated in Gittinger 1979:plate 110 and in Kahn Majlis 1984:plate 330. It is not certain whether the further appelation "gringsing wayang kebo" applies to this cloth as well, since it has more repeats of the "wayang" motif along its length than do the illustrated cloths. See entry for X61.1 for further information about "geringsing wayang".
