Near Charleston: the bridge across the lower end of Big Cypress Lake in Magnolia-on-the-Ashley, familiarly known as Magnolia Gardens today, is mirrored in the dark waters. Magnolia was one of the important Low Country plantations near Charleston and is now a mecca for tourists in the early months of the year when the gardens are gorgeous with countless and varied blooms.
