Picking apples in N.J. in October 1926 near red bank. N.J., Staymen - Winesap Variety - 15 yr. old trees. Crop about 18 crates (bushel each) per tree - blossom early in may - picking in Oct. - good keeper until march. notice cowpeas growing on soil - they are used as green manuring - disked under in spring.
