St. George Tucker house - Fronting on court house green, this residence was erected about 1788 by St. George Tucker, who succeeded George Wythe as professor of law at the College of William and Mary. Tucker was an accomplished author in the fields of law and literature. The house has been completely restored to its original appearance. It is said to be the site of the first Christmas tree in America.
