Notes:
REMARKS COMPILED IN 1987 BY ROY HAMILTON ON BASIS OF EXISTING RECORDS, EXAMINATION OF OBJECT, AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE: Consists of two panels sewn together. Commercial cotton thread. Natural and commercial dyes. This "pua" is probably representative of a style of "pua" made between the turn of the 20th Century and World War II, characterized by small size, reduced motif size, and overall use of machine spun thread, which was expensive and prestigeous [Spertus & Holmgren 1977:42]. See entry for X75.51 for background information on Iban "pua" textiles from Sarawak, Malaysia.
