Content/Description
Notes:
REMARKS COMPILED IN 1987 BY ROY HAMILTON ON BASIS OF EXISTING RECORDS, EXAMINATION OF OBJECT, AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE: Cotton fragment decorated with fine ikat work; additionally decorated with a small amount of silk embroidery. The color and techniques identify this as a piece of a cloth from the Lampung region. Probably a fragment of a woman's "tapis" skirt, such as the one illustrated in Gittinger 1979:fig.41.
