REMARKS COMPILED IN 1987 BY ROY HAMILTON ON BASIS OF EXISTING RECORDS, EXAMINATION OF OBJECT, AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE: "Geringsing" double ikat cloth from Tenganan Pageringsingan, Bali. The identical style of cloth, identified as "Geringsing putri dedari oder isi (?)", is illustrated in Kahn Majlis 1984:plate 328. Much of the information given in the entry for X61.1 also applies to this style of "geringsing".
