Although Charles P. Varle is not listed as the creator of this map, it is clearly based on the earlier Varle maps of the United States of 1817 and 1832 (see our copies), but updated by Woodbridge. Includes a population chart from the 1820, 1830, and 1840 censuses including number of seamen and slaves. Chart clearly shows the states that have abolished slavery by 1830.
