Description:
The 16th-century Chiesa di San Sebastiano (Church of Saint Sebastian) is located in the Dorsoduro sestiere of Venice. Particularly notable for its cycle of paintings by the artist Paolo Veronese, the church also houses paintings by Tintoretto and Titian. This painting is located on the right wall, fourth altar. The composition places the base of the cross next to the womb of the swooning Virgin, marking her as the mother of the cross, the direct origin of the redemption path.
