The altarpiece of the Virgin and Child with SS Paul, Francis and the Infant John the Baptist (Bologna, Pin. N.), was commissioned by Giovanni Battista Scappi for S Maria della Misericordia, Bologna, must date from soon after 1494; Francia also painted a portrait of Evangelista Scappi (Florence, Uffizi).
