Description:
This figure, inspired by Donatello's wooden statue of the Magdalen and attributed to Agnolo di Polo, a modeler who trained in Verrocchio's workshop, is remarkable for its formal simplicity. Its hands were recreated during restoration in 2015, based on the hands of a Giovanni della Robbia figure. The hands were modeled in resin and attached with magnets; they are recognizable by their color. The restoration is totally reversible, but allows visitors to see the work as originally intended.
