Description:
Since 1983, the Refectory (Cenacolo) has been used as a museum and as a home for works of art and for sacred furnishings. The unknown sculptor is Sienese. The legend of Ursula and the martyred virgins is based on a 4th- or 5th-century inscription from the Church of St. Ursula, located on Ursulaplatz in Cologne. It states that the ancient basilica had been restored on the site where some holy virgins were killed. Their commemoration was omitted from the General Roman Calendar when it was revised in 1969.
