Description:
Head of a female divinity wearing a polos (cylindrical crown) in a sub-Daedalic style. Produced by a local workshop with clearly evident Corinthian influences, in the beginning of the 6th century BCE. Found in Syracuse-Laganello near the river Ciane. [Information from museum label.]
