Description:
|
Central emblem of a floor mosaic found near San Giacomo alla Lungara, also called San Giacomo in Settimiano, due to its vicinity to Porta Settimiana, built by Septimius Severus and included by Aurelianus within the city walls. This is also the area of the Roman villa, discovered in 1879 during work on the embankments of the Tiber, under the Villa Farnesina, via Lungara. After detachment of frescoes, stucco and mosaics, the ancient structures were destroyed. (Source: Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia. org/wiki/Main_Page)
