Description:
|
Here Chagall uses a Medieval technique of painting silver stain, which fires to a brownish-orange color, and applying black vitreous paint, which can be scraped and worked before firing. During his last 30 years Chagall mastered stained glass, for which he adapted ancient techniques of hand-painting on the glass before firing, and with which he depicted both religious and secular subjects.
