Description:
Tullio Garbari was a member of the Milanese Chiaristi group. The term was coined for the first time by the critic Leonardo Borgese in 1935, referring to some young Lombard painters who, in contact with the critic Edoardo Persico, worked on a painting with light colors. The technique consisted of painting on a still wet white base. Some critics described his works as "naïf", but he studied the works of Jacques Maritain and his concepts of art and religiosity.
