From the exhibition, With a Wink and a Nod: Cartoonists of the Gilded Age (October 13, 2015 - January 3, 2016). Private collection, published in Puck, March 20, 1895. Published around St. Patrick's Day, this cartoon highlighted a source of ongoing friction between the Scots and Irish. A Scotsman has decorated his home for the holiday, pointing out that St. Patrick was actually born in Scotland. (Source: Flagler Museum [website]; https://www.flaglerm useum.us/)
