Description:
|
The original plaster of the work, still existing (Rome, private collection) was exhibited at the Venice Biennale of 1948 with the title Portrait. Emilio Jesi was certainly the greatest among the collectors of Marini and, like some of them, he was portrayed within the same years in works of a surprising stylistic variety, justified however by the artist's will to express the "poetry" placed in every human face.
