Description:
|
In 1878 the fortunes of Monet and the Impressionists declined sharply. At this time he set up a joint household with the Hoschedés at Vétheuil on the Seine, about 65 km from Paris, where this was painted. He remained there until 1883, when he, Alice Hoschedé and the children moved to a rented house in Giverny in 1883. (Source: Grove Art Online; http://www.oxfordart online.com/)
