Description:

After 1902 Renoir's health declined progressively and from 1912 he was confined by rheumatism to a wheelchair. His illness led him to prolong his visits to the south of France, and in 1907 he bought the property of Collettes (now a museum) at Cagnes-sur-Mer, where he lived until his death. Renoir created many views of this road and post office from the same vantage point, a window in his house. (Source: Grove Art Online; http://www.oxfordart online.com/)
