Description:
The apse frescoes contain the scenes: Christ blessing with the Madonna ringed with angels with symbols of the Passion and musician angels (central dome), Stories of the miraculous crucifix of Beirut (recounted in the Golden Legend) (two registers in the half-dome), and Stories of Saint Peter (large panels above the wooden choir). Coppi was one of the team of painters under Giorgio Vasari engaged in the decoration of the Studiolo of Francesco I de' Medici in the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence.
