Description:
|
Around 1320, Tino di Camaino carved three groups to be placed above the east, south and north doors of the Baptistery (dedicated to St. John the Baptist) in Florence. Three centuries later these sculptures were substituted with other groups representing the same subjects. This nude half-figure of Jesus was part of a Baptism of Christ group.
