Description:
This work exists in several states, the oldest is probably a wooden version of 1927. The title indicates the need for the artist to see his statue deposited outside, if possible in the open, so that the breeze can rotate the metal shutters that represent a heart and the inside of the body, clasped in the middle of the bronze and pivoting on a central axis. The movement is slow, random, or occurs in fits and starts, and the work never offers exactly the same angle twice. (Source: Fondation Maeght [website]; https://www.fondatio n-maeght.com/en/)
