Work Notes:
According to a plan of 1676 by Simon Felice Delino, this building was a hen house. Under the reign of Marcantonio Borghese IV and his architect Antonio Asprucci, the building was renovated, enlarged, and adorned with medieval-style crenellations. After that it probably came to be used for the administrative offices of the villa. It now houses works by the sculptor Pietro Canonica (1869-1959). (Campitelli, 1993, 67-68)
