REMARKS COMPILED IN 1987 BY ROY HAMILTON ON BASIS OF EXISTING RECORDS, EXAMINATION OF OBJECT, AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE: Made with machine spun commercial yarns. The metallic thread is a silver-colored plastic monofiliment, rather then the older style of wrapped yarn. This cloth could be used as decoration or worn as a hip cloth on special occasions. This cloth was part of a collection that was, as far as is known, collected entirely during the 1930s. However, the nature of the materials used indicate that this item probably came into that collection at a later date.
