Description:
|
K. Hovnanian Homes is one of the largest homebuilding firms in the US. This is a single-family one-story home with 3.75 baths. The lot size is 8,404 sq. ft. Typical for the Southwest it has a concrete tile roof. Light-frame platform construction using standardized dimensional lumber has become the dominant construction method in North America. This home rests on a concrete slab with no basement. The 2x4 studs are covered with particle (composite OSB) board for rigidity, filled with fiberglass bats of insulation and covered with drywall. Distance between studs varies, but 16" wide on center (OC) is prevalent. Prefabricated elements such as roof trusses are common. Modern plumbing uses PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) piping for drain-waste-vent and copper, brass or PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) for supply. The exterior in this case is covered with a waterproof building paper, metal lath (mesh) and stucco. (Source: Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia. org/wiki/Main_Page)
