Description:
The entire 6-story apartment block is conceived as a "living forest"; the Corten steel support pillars are fabricated to look like branching trees. Large steel tubs like huge flowerpots hold 150 trees on the irregular, staggered outer terraces. Another 50 trees are planted in the central courtyard garden. The apartment units, built from steel and concrete, are clad with over one million larch shingles. All but a few of the apartments have two balconies, one facing into the green courtyard, the other out to the street. There are 63 residential units in the building, all of different design. The top floor is covered with private green roofs. (Source: ArchDaily; http://www.archdaily .com/)
