Description:
In accordance with custom, frescoes embellished the public spaces of San Marco. The entire north wall of the Chapter room was reserved for a huge, semicircular Crucifixion with Saints. The numerous saints include the patron saints of the Medici family (Cosimo di Medici was the patron who paid for the fresco program), the convent, the city, the Dominican Order, the Fathers of the Church and the founders of the main monastic orders.
