Fourth Style fresco from Pompeii, the House of the Tragic Poet (VI, 8, 3.5), east wall of the tablinum. King Admetus and his queen Alcestis are seated and listening to the words of the oracle that Admetus must die unless some one should voluntarily meet death in his place.
