Description:
On the back is written "Torlonia 236" and four Torlonia seals; on the back of the frame is the number 656. It comes from Valenti Gonzaga collection, purchased by Torlonia before 1808 when it was attributed to Caravaggio. It was attributed to Manfredi by Voss in 1924. It is considered one of the early works of Manfredi, dated within the first decade of the seventeenth century.
