Description:
|
This is the only signed and dated work by the artist, who was active in Bologna. The work has a strong similarity to the St. Sebastian by Andrea Mantegna now at the Louvre, but originally in Sainte-Chapelle d'Aigueperse, which the artist may have seen during a visit to France in 1481.
