Description:

Formerly attributed to Piero della Francesca, who was also a mathematician. Other attributions include Luciano Laurana. Baldi attributed to Laurana architectural perspective drawings, which some writers (e.g. Budinich, Kimball, Krautheimer) have identified as three perspective views of Urbino (Baltimore, MD, Walters A.G.; Berlin, Gemäldegal.; Urbino, Pal. Ducale). The architectural forms of the buildings, however, seem closer to those of Giuliano da Sangallo. Melozzo da Forlì has also been mentioned as a possible creator. It shows Classically influenced architecture disposed in a logically planned piazza. (Source: Grove Art Online; http://www.oxfordart online.com/)
