Description:
|
The central emblem of a floor mosaic, done in opus vermiculatum work. The scene depicts, in the foreground, the end of a fight of roosters with the loser bleeding. In the background are the owners of the animals, one on the right in a sad pose for the defeated rooster. To the left, the owner of the victorious rooster bears a wreath to the base of a statue of Priapus, while a child, from right, gives the palm of victory.
