Description:
Painted in the 1510s. At the Uffizi since 1919. Araldi was born, and was mainly active, in Parma. The portrait shows the early Renaissance use of the profile style. Typical of the Milanese court dress is the ribbon on the front, as well as the richness, with the removable sleeve and decorated with inlays and embroidery. The sitter is thought to be Barbara Pallavicino. In the past the picture was attributed to Piero della Francesca and thought to be of Beatrice d'Este.
