Description:
|
The development of the series was Monet’s great effort of the 1890s: they were a factor in all of his exhibitions during the decade. Three trips to London (where his son Michel was studying) from 1899 to 1901 yielded an extended series of Views of the Thames. After three years of reworking in Giverny they were exhibited at Durand-Ruel’s gallery in 1904. (Source: Grove Art Online; http://www.oxfordart online.com/)
